voted; and an alaska carbon?
November 4, 2008 at 10:22 am | sam | literature, nerd, newsI voted this morning. The polls opened at 7, but I slept in. By the time I got to my polling place, there was no line at all. The poor folks that got there at 7 (or before) waited in an hour-long line.
Also, check out that Alaska (?) carbon.* Man, JACS is really screwing up lately.

I’m confused … what’s an Alaska carbon?
Comment by Alex — November 4, 2008 #
It’s like Texas carbon but more so.

A carbon bonded to oxygen and 16 hydrogens is a little strange to me. Alaska is the only state bigger than Texas, so I figured an Alaska carbon is what comes after a Texas carbon.

exactly

Ok, I understand … and what are those 33 hydrogens doing? are they bonded to the 16 hydrogens?

Excimer or PsiPsi @ CBC already called 6 bonds a carbon a Canada Carbon. Alaska < Canada, and 6 < 49, so I think you need a bigger name.
